TAMPA BAY, Fla. – In an expansion of its cruising operations, Margaritaville at Sea has announced the introduction of a new Margaritaville cruise ship, the Margaritaville at Sea Islander.

Set to embark from Florida’s Port of Tampa Bay, the vessel will begin its voyages on June 14, 2024, marking a notable addition to the growing cruise line’s itinerary.

The Margaritaville at Sea Islander is designed to provide a unique cruising experience, offering four and five-night excursions to sought-after destinations such as Key West, Cozumel, and Progreso. This expansion into the Gulf of Mexico has been eagerly anticipated by cruise enthusiasts and industry observers alike. The announcement comes on the heels of a new Royal Carribbean cruise ship coming to Port Canaveral, highlighting Florida’s rapidly growing cruise industry.

Margaritaville Offering Preview Pricing

Bookings for the 2024 sailings are currently open, with Margaritaville at Sea providing special preview pricing and attractive deposit terms for a limited period. This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to making its luxury cruising experiences accessible to a wide range of travelers.

Margritaville’s Second Ship

The addition of the Islander to the Margaritaville fleet signifies the cruise line’s second major vessel, following the successful launch of the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise. The Paradise, currently operating out of the Port of Palm Beach in South Florida, offers a 3-night Bahamas vacation and has received positive feedback from guests for its quality of service and amenities.

Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville at Sea, expressed excitement about the new launch. “Since the debut of our first ship, Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, we’ve focused on responding to our guests’ desires for more expansive views, longer itineraries, and new ports of call,” he said. “The introduction of the Islander marks a pivotal moment in our journey, offering an expanded range of destinations and experiences.”

No mega-ship crowds here….

The Margaritaville at Sea Islander boasts impressive features, including 12 passenger decks capable of accommodating 2,650 guests. The ship offers a diverse range of accommodation options, such as Breezy Balcony staterooms, Grand Terrace Suites, luxurious Corner Suites, and the exclusive Islander suites, catering to couples, families, and groups of friends.

Unique to the Islander is its 14-story atrium adorned with a signature Margaritaville flip flop and an atrium bar featuring spectacular multi-story floating margarita glass chandeliers. The ship also includes familiar favorites such as Paradise Pickleball at Sea, Frank and Lola’s Pizzeria, and the Margaritaville Coffee Shop, among others.

An extensive redesign of the ship’s 1,100 staterooms is underway, incorporating custom styling that echoes the themes of sand, sea, and sky. This renovation includes the introduction of Margaritaville’s signature bedding, pillows, and linens, enhancing the overall guest experience.

Port Tampa Bay Welcomes Addition

Paul Anderson, President and CEO of Port Tampa Bay, welcomed Margaritaville at Sea to the region. “We are honored to have the Margaritaville at Sea Islander homeport here and are excited about the unique opportunities and experiences it brings to Florida’s Gulf Coast,” he stated. “Our port’s cruise terminals offer easy navigation and a variety of activities, making it an ideal starting point for these new and adventurous itineraries.”

Margaritaville at Sea continues to innovate, as evidenced by the Islander’s features, which include family-friendly spaces like the Caribbean Amphibian Splash and Slide, the only three-story poolside LandShark Bar at Sea, and a Margaritaville-inspired mini-golf course.

Islander will be the Margaritaville Line’s Flagship

John Cohlan, CEO of Margaritaville Holdings, emphasized the significance of the new ship. “The launch of Margaritaville at Sea Islander as our flagship vessel marks an exciting phase of expansion. This addition enables us to offer our guests more destination choices and an enhanced range of Margaritaville onboard experiences.”

The maiden voyage of the Margaritaville at Sea Islander is eagerly awaited by cruise enthusiasts, promising to deliver an unparalleled cruising experience that blends adventure, relaxation, and the unique Margaritaville brand laid back lifestyle.
