Sonny Tillman Passes On, But His Barbecue Empire Lives On

Floyd “Sonny” Tillman spent most of his life working. Not the kind of work that draws attention, but the kind that fills days and wears on your hands. He believed in showing up, doing things the right way, and letting the results speak for themselves.
Flying Out of Florida for Thanksgiving? Here’s What Travelers Should Know

Thanksgiving travel is already picking up across the country, and Florida is one of the busiest starting points and destinations. Hundreds of thousands of passengers will pass through Miami, Orlando, and Tampa this week, and that means traffic, crowds, and long lines. A little extra planning makes the difference between a smooth start and a hectic one. Here are some tips and reminders to help you have as stress-free an experience as possible:
Dutch Masters On Special Exhibit At West Palm Museum

The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach is now home to a major exhibition titled Art and Life in Rembrandt’s Time: Masterpieces from The Leiden Collection, marking the most extensive presentation of The Leiden Collection ever shown in the United States. The Leiden Collection is among the largest and most important collections of seventeenth-century Dutch art in private hands, and many of its paintings are rarely seen. This new exhibition gives art lovers a chance to see many of the Leiden Collection works up close and in person. For many, this is a chance not to be missed.
Located at 1450 S. Dixie Highway, the exhibition runs during regular museum hours: Thursdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $18 for adults, with discounts available for students, seniors, and children.
Florida’s Best Beaches: Where Sunshine Meets the Shoreline

Florida is a state that lives and breathes its coastlines. With more than 1,300 miles of shoreline and some 825 miles of accessible beaches, it’s no wonder the Sunshine State has built its reputation on sand and sea. Ask any local, though, and you’ll quickly find that “the best beach” depends on what you’re after. Do you want nightlife and neon? Quiet seclusion? Water as clear as glass? Or maybe you’re looking for a family-friendly destination where the kids can build castles while you relax with toes in the sand.
Mosquito Lagoon’s Name Stretches Back 500 Years
Florida’s east coast has changed a lot over the centuries, but one thing that’s held its ground—name and all—is Mosquito Lagoon. While other places in the region have shed their buggy branding in favor of more marketable names, Mosquito Lagoon remains the last major waterway in Florida to retain its original moniker.
So where did the name “Mosquito Lagoon” come from, and why did it stick?
Florida Man Airlifted To Hospital After Posing With Shark And Getting Bitten

A Florida man learned the hard way that sharks don’t have much patience posing for photos.
Shawn Meuse was posing with a lemon shark on a beach in Boca Grande when the animal turned on him, sinking its teeth into his leg. The moment of the shark bite was caught on video and quickly spread across social media.
Five Unique AirBNB Stays In Florida
Getting away from it all doesn’t always mean leaving the country, or even leaving the state you’re in. This is especially true in Florida, a state that’s already a vacation destination, and one that sees many millions of visitors every year. Many come for the Attractions in Kissimmee, namely, Disney, Universal and Sea World. Others come for Miami’s bright lights and nightlife. For those looking for a unique experience, discovering a unique AirBNB in Florida could be the perfect choice. Still others come for the beaches or the islands scattered throughout the Sunshine State.
Those experiences and resorts are easily found on the web, and often don’t make for a casual getaway in some unique place. Here are five spots in Florida we’ve found recently that are unique and perhaps off the beaten path just a bit:
Ozzy Osbourne’s “Almost” Canceled Concert

Legendary rock musician Ozzy Osbourne died this week at the age of 76 from complications of Parkinson’s disease. Known for his often dark and drug driven personality, Ozzy had a music career that spanned well over 50 years, between his rock band Black Sabbath and his solo career. Ozzy experienced a lot of backlash throughout his life, including some that nearly canceled a concert in the Sunshine State.
Florida’s Hidden Danger: What You Need to Know About Flesh-Eating Bacteria

Florida is known for sunshine, theme parks, and frolicking in the water. It all makes for a great vacation. But you might want to rethink that “frolicking in the water” part…. or at least pay more attention to where you do it.
Delta Testing AI To Set Individual Passenger Fares.

Photo: Delta Airlines.
Delta Air Lines is taking a bold step to retool its fare-setting engine: by the end of 2025, AI will determine ticket prices on one out of every five domestic flights. And if that goes well (for Delta) they may roll out the system to all potential passengers. Some will pay more, while others may pay less, all depending on what the new system comes up with.
