Orlando KIA Center – The Orlando Solar Bears suffered a tough loss Monday night falling to the Florida Everblades 1-0 in an exciting and hard-played ECHL hockey game at the KIA Center in downtown Orlando. Any loss is hard, but this one seemed more difficult due to the hard play by the Solar Bears.
Orlando – The Belleville Senators of the American Hockey League (AHL) call up goalie Michael Simpson. The announcement was made Saturday, November 9 by the Orlando Solar Bears.
TAMPA, FL (Nov. 9, 2024) – Anyone who has ever flown into Tampa or visited there knows that the airspace there can be a pretty busy place. On Saturday, the “airspace” was even busier than usual at just 25 feet over Tampa’s Hillsborough River. The air was filled with creativity and daring as the Red Bull Flugtag event returned to the city for the first time since 2011.
Orlando KIA Center – The Atlanta Gladiators slap another home “L” on the Orlando Solar Bears win/loss column Wednesday night in the KIA Center dropping the Bears from #5 at the beginning of the regular season to #10 in the standings with 3 wins, 4 losses, and 1 OTL (Overtime Loss).
Orlando KIA Center – In traditional pirate fashion, the Savannah Ghost Pirates stole Monday night’s home game against our Orlando Solar Bears 6-5.
November 4, 2024 – In an electrifying matchup honoring Florida’s Space Coast and the state’s deep-rooted ties to space exploration, the UCF Knights defeated the Arizona Wildcats in the annual “Space Game” on Saturday, thrilling fans with a 35-24 victory. This college football game not only showcased the athletic prowess of the Knights but also served as a tribute to Central Florida’s role in pioneering space technology and exploration.
With all the action any hockey game promises to deliver, the game between the Orlando Solar Bears and the Jacksonville Icemen last Saturday night (Nov. 2, ’24) was no exception! Winning 5-1, the Solar Bears gave their fans everything they could want: fast skating, plenty of scoring and fights… a lot of fights!

Fourth ranked Orlando Solar Bears took on the fifth ranked Savannah Ghost Pirates Saturday night at the KIA Center for their regular season opener, winning the game 2-1.
“He’d fly through the air with the greatest of ease…” was the first thing that came to my mind when I arrived, but I wasn’t at the circus. I was at the Orlando MX Park in Bithlo, Florida, one of the premier motocross tracks in Florida!

The KIA Center, Orlando.
The home of the Orlando Solar Bears – the ECHL affiliate of the NHL team Tampa Bay Lightning – was filled with excited fans from both sides last night as the Lightning took on the Florida Panthers.
Going to a sporting event is always fun. I particularly enjoy soccer, though, because I learned how to play in Germany when I was 10 and grew up playing all the way through high school. The Tampa Bay Sun v Dallas Trinity match, however, packed more fun into a single event than I’m sure anyone could have expected!
