FMN congratulates our own Richard Gallagher on his award-winning shot of the Starship Heavy booster return at Boca Chica, Tx on October 13th. Competing against a slate of world class photographers who submitted over 800 entries, Gallagher’s work placed second in Aviation Week’s annual photo contest in the “Photo Illustration” category.
Gallagher said of his award winning photo, ” I’m thrilled that my image was chosen by Aviation Week. It gives me a real sense of accomplishment to see my work among a field of photos by other photographers whom I have admired for years. I hope photos like mine will help to bring more public attention to the fantastic technical accomplishments being made in this new era of spaceflight. It truly is a magical time to be alive.”
Gallagher also received recognition of several other submissions in the Aviation Week Editors Choice Category. Richard lives with his wife in Merritt Island, Florida and frequently travels to major aviation and space events. Outstanding work sir!
