Following Royal Caribbean’s announcement last week that Meghan Trainor was selected as the new ship’s “Godmother,” the ship will depart for a three-night Bahamas cruise with Trainor and fans on board for what the company bills at “The World’s Biggest Weekend”.
“Meghan Trainor embodies our motto for the cruise in every aspect from her persona to her music. We are thrilled to welcome her as the godmother to match Utopia’s big weekend energy,” said Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International .
Trainor will also entertain 52 lucky fans who won a cruise lottery with a live performance during the inaugural cruise. She plans to sing her hit song “All About That Bass” with her “sparkly bejeweled ukulele” at the open-air AquaTheater on Royal Caribbean’s private island, CocoCay .
Where Will Utopia Sail?
Royal Caribbean plans for the ship to embark primarily on three-night weekend and four-night weekday getaways, catering to guests seeking both short escapes and extended cruises. Voyages will take passengers to the Caribbean, with stops at popular destinations such as Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas, and Nassau.
