In the wake of the Israel Hamas war, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody has issued a statewide call to action for Floridians to remain vigilant and proactive in reporting any suspicious activities. The move comes as the US experiences increased tensions as a result of the Israel Hamas war, along with what many perceive as an open border. Addressing the public from Palm Beach County after a high-level security briefing with law enforcement officials, Moody articulated an “enhanced threat” level that could potentially inspire acts of violence within the United States.

The briefing, which included key members from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Florida Highway Patrol, underscored the importance of community involvement in maintaining safety and security. Moody, aligning her message with concerns previously expressed by FBI Director Christopher Wray, highlighted the recent surge in antisemitic incidents and the general apprehension felt by many Americans due to the volatile events unfolding overseas.

Reiterating the importance of public participation, Moody advised Floridians to stay alert and report any oddities, from vehicles parked in strange places to unattended bags or signs of tampered security devices. The Attorney General emphasized that while the goal is not to spread undue fear, the need for increased awareness is critical in these uncertain times.

Residents are encouraged to contribute to their own safety and that of their communities by keeping an eye out for extended surveillance, unusual photography, and any behavior that appears out of the ordinary. To facilitate this, Moody has made available a state tip line, 855-FLA-SAFE, for citizens to report any potential threats or irregularities.

This initiative reflects a broader commitment by Florida’s law enforcement to ensure the well-being of its citizens by staying one step ahead of any threats that may emerge as a result of international conflicts.
